A culture of excellence within educational programs does not happen by chance. It is intentionally built through trust, professional accountability, and the willingness of colleagues to support one another’s growth through constructive feedback.
In many educational environments, however, trust may be weakened due to unresolved conflict, inconsistent expectations, or patterns of unprofessional behavior. When feedback is avoided or delivered ineffectively, it can contribute to dysfunction rather than improvement.
This session explores how peer-to-peer feedback can serve as a powerful tool to restore trust, strengthen professional relationships, and reinforce a shared commitment to excellence. Participants will examine the principles of effective feedback, learn communication strategies that reduce defensiveness, and discuss practical approaches for addressing challenges in a respectful and solutions-focused manner.
Through guided discussion and real-world examples, attendees will also explore how faculty can implement peer feedback practices that promote transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement within their departments. By the end of the session, participants will gain practical strategies for fostering environments where feedback is normalized, trust is rebuilt, and excellence becomes a shared responsibility among colleagues.

Course Instructor
Jasmin Haley, MS, RDH, CDA, is an educational consultant, curriculum designer, and faculty development specialist with more than 20 years of experience across higher education, public health, leadership development, and clinical education. She currently serves in academic leadership and partners with faculty, leaders, and institutions to strengthen teaching effectiveness, instructional consistency, and learner outcomes.
Jasmin is the founder of Beyond the Prophy®, a nationally recognized professional development platform created to support dental educators and clinicians through evidence-informed education, continuing education programs, and leadership conversations. Her work through Beyond the Prophy has centered on elevating educational standards, professional identity, and teaching excellence within dental education.
She is also the founder of Legacy Scaler®, where she designs leadership development programs, faculty training, and curriculum strategies focused on communication, ethical decision-making, and sustainable leadership practices. Through Legacy Scaler®, Jasmin has supported organizations, academic programs, and professional teams in translating complex concepts into practical, outcome-driven learning experiences.
